Waterloo Station
Realising the potential of a prime retail site on Waterloo
Station, by replacing a redundant concrete planter with
a Proteus retail unit occupied by Tie Rack, led the
Company to submit a scheme to Railtrack which would
dramatically enhance the retailing on Waterloo Station.
This involved the installation of eleven Proteus units
down the central spine of the station concourse and
a significant upgrading of four barrier line units in
the Proteus style. All the units attracted multiple
retailers, such as The Body Shop, H Samuel, Paperchase
and Victoria Wine, with the flagship store in the centre
of the concourse being occupied by W H Smith (see above).
This scheme highlighted the ability of the Proteus
Open Space Management concept to transform the retail
potential of a location within a short space of time
and to generate a significant amount of additional rental
income. |
