The
Concept
The principle of the Proteus Open Space Management concept
is the ability to put together an excellent financial
package by combining a high quality tenant with a sophisticated
retail unit in a newly created prime location, thereby
producing previously untapped income.
The unit has been designed as a means of maximising
the potential of previously unused open space within
shopping centres, airports and railway stations by providing
a high quality structure which is suitable for specialist
retailing, catering and the like.
The design is totally flexible in terms of size (range
100 sq.ft upwards), shape and cost and can be used either
on a temporary or permanent basis, both internally and
externally. If required, air conditioning can be incorporated,
subject to the availability of a suitable condensate
drainage facility. In addition, the unit has been designed
in such a way as to cause minimal damage to existing
floor surfaces.
A major feature of the Proteus unit is the fact that
it is fully demountable, being capable of erection or
dismantling within a relatively short time frame. This
is of particular interest within the context of seasonal
trading, pilot ventures and the like.
A Proteus unit has also been used for a left luggage
office (Waterloo Station). |
